Encaustics/Environment--Fire & Ice
This series is inspired by the land of Fire and Ice, Iceland. I am intrigued by that country's efforts to avoid using fossil fuel and their success with using geothermal energy for their energy system. This wax method is poured pigmented wax on cradled panels. It introduces the concept of randomness and opens the possibility of surprise rather than control.
