Encaustics I--Environment/Kelp I have long been concerned for the health and sustainability of our planet. I feel particular angst over the increasing numbers of vanishing species, from polar bears to ice caps to coral reefs to seaweed. I have taken an interest in kelp, a seaweed that is both a vanishing species and a focus on farming for human consumption. These works celebrate the fluid poetry of the undersea world and serve to raise awareness about our part in saving the sea and its myriad life forms.
