Gallery Seven--Encaustics II
Gallery Seven artworks are all encaustic (hot wax) pigments poured and integrated with found objects that have been attached to the substrate--wood. Poured wax adds an interesting uneven edge to the piece once the tape is removed. Incorporating disparate materials in an integrated manner transforms the materials and their histories into a new work. The objects are trapped in a relic-like state, evoking the formation of amber.
